Description:
The entrance has a specific funnel-shaped shape that expands into the space after a depth of 15 meters and continues through five halls that descend obliquely to the pond at a depth of 60 meters. In the fourth hall there is an opening 4 m wide which descends vertically to the lower lakes and the deepest point of the pit of 132 m.
This pit is a treasure trove of stalagmites and stalactites and underground sculptures created by the patient and long-lasting work of water. This is how the miraculous sigmatic shapes were created, of which the ten-meter-long “curtain” stands out, a very realistic statue of the Mother of God, the figure of the shepherdess Milka, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the snowman who became the trademark of this cave. It is located in the western part of Istria near Nova Vas between Porec, Visnjan and Tara, only 5 km from the sea. It is surrounded by rich prehistoric archeological sites, historic forts, ancient villas, medieval monasteries, but also a still preserved natural landscape.
In their honor, this exhibition is called Tractor Story.
An ethno story dedicated to agriculture has been set up in the area, where communications and roads meet since ancient times, next to the Baredine pit as a natural landmark. Fifty oldtimer tractors and machines are presented in their original condition in which they were last used for field work. Without subsequent modifications and in its original condition, each tractor, starting with the Fordson from 1923, which first arrived in a nearby village, represents one of the many stories related to this area.
